Caretta Caretta Hatchlings' First Steps at Kazanlı Beach

The first steps of the caretta carettas

On 26 July 2025, the Rotaract Club of Mersin joined the Rotary Club of Mersin, Rotary Club of Adana, Rotaract Club of Adana and Koza Rotary Club at Kazanlı Beach for a day that touched both nature and solidarity.

Our event, where we accompanied the hatchlings' very first steps, began with a pleasant get-together dinner on the beach that strengthened our friendships. Afterwards, under the guidance of Mr. Seyhan Akdoğan, President of the Akdeniz Third Eye Association, we watched the caretta caretta hatchlings reach the sea safely. In those moments, it wasn't just the sand that felt warm; our hearts did too.

Thanks to the experts on site throughout the event, we learned a great deal about endangered species. We planted a seed of responsibility for nature in the mind of every participant.

We sincerely thank everyone who made this meaningful day possible, especially Mr. Seyhan Akdoğan and the Akdeniz Third Eye Association for their valuable contributions.

As the Rotaract Club of Mersin, we will keep bringing the energy of youth together with kindness.

Unite for Good.
