More than a club

The Rotaract Club of Mersin was founded on 1 January 1987. After a record of successful work, it received its Charter from Rotary International in 1988 and became an official member of the worldwide Rotaract family.

With a history of nearly forty years, our club stands out not only for its projects but for the culture of friendship it has built over the years. Our past presidents and members still come together with the same warmth and loyalty, because for us Rotaract is not just a club; it is a family for life.

Guided by the Four-Way Test at the heart of Rotaract, our club is a dynamic community that helps young people serve society while growing personally and professionally, and opens the door to friendships across Türkiye and the world.

In line with Rotary's seven areas of focus, we run sustainable projects in many fields and carry out work that raises awareness in our community.

Our greatest goal is to develop young people's leadership skills, raise individuals who are sensitive to society's needs, and add value to our community through projects that create lasting impact.

What is Rotary?

What is Rotaract?

Rotaract is an international community founded by Rotary International in 1968 that brings together young people aged 18 and over for service, leadership and friendship. Its name comes from "Rotary in Action".

The first Rotaract club was founded on 13 March 1968 in the United States, which is why the week that includes 13 March is celebrated every year as World Rotaract Week. Since 2019 Rotaract has been a membership type of Rotary International, open to everyone aged 18 and over.

Today there are more than 9,500 Rotaract clubs around the world. In each district, clubs are represented by a District Rotaract Representative they elect from among themselves. The Rotaract Club of Mersin is part of Rotary International District 2430.
