Teachers' Day

Teachers' Day marks the day in 1928 when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic, was given the title of "Head Teacher". An occasion to remember and honor teachers, it is traditionally marked by students giving gifts to their teachers. It is also a day to remember the devoted teachers who fell victim to terrorism.
